Events for Saturday

Stanton Warriors " Stanton Sessions"

The Stanton Warriors are the baddest booty-shakin’, genre-mashing, beats ‘n’ bass freaks in the bizness.
Over the course of the noughties they’ve grown into an award-winning, arena-ramming, festival-headlining DJ/producer act par excellence. They’ve worked with top US rappers, cracked the UK Top 40, remixed everybody who’s anybody, and played all over the world – literally quite a number of times.
Their wide-ranging appeal and killer tunes have been responsible for converting a slew of fans to their cause. ‘What is this music?’ ask newcomers to the Stanton sound before proceeding to dance their asses off - and buy up their music by the bucket-load.

Who are the Warriors, then? Dom B is the tall, talkative one with the fairer hair, Mark Yardley the dark-haired multi-instrumentalist and production whizz. The Stanton story started in the south west of England, when Dom and Mark went to some of the same open-air free parties around Bristol in the early/mid 1990s. There they soaked up house, funk, breaks, electro and hip-hop – influences that were to help shape the Stanton sound over the next few years. Hooking up again in London after moving there independently, Dom began working at UK garage imprint 51st Recordings where Mark was the in-house engineer.
Utilising a bit of studio downtime, the guys began working on some tracks together. Tripping over a manhole cover in London gave them their name. Essentially American house music with breaks in (they weren’t big fans of 2-step drums), their early recordings were released by 51st before they were snapped up just after the Millennium by breakbeat label Mob – run by breaks pioneer Tayo. The killer ‘Da Virus’ and ‘Da Antidote’ singles really put them on the map in the breakbeat world before they moved on to incomparable independent label XL Recordings – the home of dance titans The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and, later, Dizzee Rascal.
The night will feature support DJs of :
